Mark your application dnr 2.3.1-168-2014. 2) Researcher in Palaeobiology Duties Carry out independent collections-based research at a high international level in the fields of palaeozoology or pre-quaternary palaeobotany, including obtaining external research funding, publishing in leading international journals, presenting research results at international and domestic conferences, etc. The position also includes shared responsibility for documentation and digitalization, supervision of visitors, and dissemination of scientific knowledge to the public and schools. Also, when required, teaching student groups, supervising research students and mentoring postdoctoral researchers, and participating in other activities of the museum and department. Qualifications A PhD or equivalent in palaeontology is required. The successful applicant will be creative and dynamic with documented postdoctoral scientific production at a high international level. Ability to work in a team is essential, and the skills or experience to contribute to the administration and development of the research discipline are advantageous. Documented ability to obtain external research funding is meritorious, as is experience in management, practical enhancement, conservation and public promotion of fossil collections of a diverse nature. This is an open search. Position and salary will be commensurate with the qualifications of the successful applicant. The Swedish Museum of Natural History can promote an employee to professor if she/he is found to have the required qualification after an evaluation by external reviewers.
