Sign the petition to protect National Museum Wales

Dear colleague

As you may have heard, management at National Museum Wales have announced restructuring proposals designed to save £2.5 million after having their funding frozen by the Welsh Government. The proposals would result in the loss of around 35 posts and more than 160 staff would be affected in other ways, frequently involving detrimental changes to their terms and conditions. As well as the direct impact on staff, there are concerns that these changes could seriously undermine the popular and prestigious services offered by the National Museum at its seven sites across Wales.

As part of our campaign to defend jobs and services at the Museum, PCS has initiated a petition on the website of the National Assembly for Wales:

Once the petition has gathered at least ten signatures, it will be discussed by the Assembly's Petitions Committee, which is made up of AMs from all parties. The Committee may then decide to investigate the issue further and possibly to take up our concerns with the Welsh Government.

Please sign the petition yourself before the closing date of 23 April and encourage your branch members, colleagues and friends to do likewise.

Many thanks
